Frequently Asked Questions

What is fascia?

Fascia is a strong, flexible web of connective tissue that surrounds and supports every muscle, bone, nerve and organ in your body. When it becomes tight, dehydrated or restricted, it can contribute to pain, stiffness and reduced movement.

What is fascia release?

Fascia release is a gentle, movement-based approach that helps restore mobility by releasing tension and restrictions within the body's connective tissue. The aim is to help your body move more freely and comfortably.

What happens during a session?

Every session begins with a discussion about your symptoms, lifestyle and goals. I will assess how your body moves before guiding you through a series of gentle fascial manoeuvres and movements tailored to your needs.

Does fascia release hurt?

Most techniques are gentle and comfortable. Some areas may feel tender as restrictions are released, but you are always in control and treatments are adapted to your comfort level.

What conditions can fascia release help with?

Many people seek fascia release for:

  • Stress and tension

  • Back and neck pain

  • Shoulder tension

  • Hip and knee discomfort

  • Sciatica

  • Headaches

  • Sports recovery

  • Poor posture

  • General stiffness

Results vary from person to person, and fascia release is not a cure for medical conditions.

How long is a session?

A typical 1 to 1 session lasts around 60 minutes.

How many sessions will I need?

Some people notice changes after just one session, while others benefit from a series of treatments depending on how long they've had the problem and their personal goals. You will be taught how to do the maneuvers so you can take care of yourself

Do I need to wear anything special?

Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. Sportswear or loose-fitting clothes are ideal.

Is fascia release suitable for everyone?

Most people can benefit, but it may not be appropriate for certain medical conditions or recent injuries. If you're unsure, please get in touch before booking.

Will I receive exercises to do at home?

Yes. Where appropriate, you'll be shown simple movements you can continue at home to help maintain your progress between sessions.

How does this differ from a Physio?

Physiotherapits focus on massaging muscles that are problem areas for the body. Fasica Maneouvers focus on the whole body to release tension and encourage the body to heal itself.

Can I combine fascia release with other treatments?

Yes. Fascia release often works well alongside physiotherapy, chiropractic care, massage, osteopathy and personal training. Always let me know about any treatments you're currently receiving.
